I purchased to print on ioProx cards for our employees. The printer works well for the price and provides a consistent output. You’re not going to get an amazingly bright print for a printer of this cost but it does a good job and prints clearly. Overall, no complaints at all except for the software licensing which requires you to insert the USB drive every time you want to run the program to print. This is annoying and this is the only product I use that has to do this. Once the software is up and working though, it works pretty well.
After making less than 50 badges the machine started giving an error that the ink cartridge was empty. We ordered new cartridges and still got the same message when we went to print any badges. Our return window with Amazon had closed, so I called the manufacturer and they could not diagnose the issue. Since the badgy is still under warranty they had me send the machine to some distributor to fix. We have been without our badge maker for over 3 weeks. They STILL CANNOT diagnose the issue and say they have to order new parts to test out the main board. We have asked for a “new” unit since ours is under warranty and they refuse to accommodate this. At this point we will probably just eat the cost and buy a new badge maker from someone else.
It’s a good printer. It doesn’t always make every badge perfect which would require a reprint, but second time is a charm. Of the 50 or so I’ve printed so far, I’ve only had issues on three or 4 of the cards. This model doesn’t print to the edge, that us states in the description, but the little line that is left is pretty negligible. You can buy the one model up for another hundred dollars to eliminate that line. All in all I love it. It’s pretty fast and perfect for my low volume card printing needs. The Badgy software is SUPER easy to use.
